Terms of Service

Last updated: June 14, 2026

These terms govern your use of the websites, downloadable applications, and related services offered by Mecha, LLC (“Mecha,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using our software, you agree to these terms.

1. What we provide

Mecha builds downloadable data-integrity software for macOS and Windows — tools that verify, protect, and preserve files. The software is licensed, not sold, to you for your personal use or your organization’s internal use, subject to the license terms delivered with each product.

2. Purchases and Merchant of Record

Payments for our paid products are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record (authorized reseller). When you buy a Mecha product, your order, payment, taxes, and billing are handled by Paddle under Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Paddle appears on your statement and issues your receipt.

3. Licenses, trials, and activation

  • Paid products include a 30-day free trial with full functionality so you can evaluate before purchasing.
  • A purchase grants a perpetual license to the purchased major version, activated with the email address and name associated with your order.
  • Detection and read-only functions remain available without an active license; repair, creation, and other write functions require a valid license. The exact split is described on each product’s page.
  • You may not share, resell, or sublicense your license key. Reasonable personal use across your own devices is fine.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) circumvent license enforcement; (b) redistribute the software except as expressly permitted; (c) use the software to violate applicable law; or (d) reverse engineer the software except to the extent that right cannot be waived under applicable law.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The software is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Mecha does not warrant that the software will be error-free or that it will detect or repair every form of data corruption.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mecha’s total liability arising out of or relating to the software or these terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the product in the twelve months before the claim. Mecha is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill.

7. Changes

We may update these terms as our products evolve. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for disputes is the state and federal courts located in New York, to the extent permitted by law.
